Three Lakes Waterfront Association is a 501©(3) non-profit corporation

Purpose

Three Lakes Waterfront Association, is organized to preserve and protect Wisconsin inland waters, their watersheds and ecosystems in the vicinity of Three Lakes through:

  • Promoting and encouraging through education responsible stewardship of Wisconsin waters.
  • Acquiring, exchanging and disseminating information to members on water and land use, related environmental matters, zoning and other pertinent laws and regulations.
  • Supporting and conducting related research and education.
  • Coordinating joint endeavors with similar organizations to promote environmental and ecological education and activities.

Structure

Three Lakes Waterfront Association is one of the largest organizations of its kind in Wisconsin with more than 800 family memberships and growing. TWLA is governed by a Board of Directors elected from and by the membership for three-year terms. The association is a member organization of the Wisconsin Association of Lakes, comprised of more than 275 area associations, with a combined membership in excess of 75,000 families.

a cast of fourteen professionals who:

    • Meet monthly to discuss and act on lake issues
    • Write grants, review lake-related publications for best practices
    • Liaise with the public and government agencies – contract and direct scientific research
    • Communicate by a biannual Newsletter, TLWA.org Website, email notifications and social media
    • Guide and participate in programs including Clean Boats/Clean Waters, Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) monitoring and mitigation, Fish Sticks, Adopt-Your-Shoreline, Three Lakes Aquatic Education and Scholarship, Rapid Response Dive Team and Shoreline Restoration
    • CPA services, legal review, management decisions, biologic and geologic consultants, GPS-based cartography, photography
