Honoring Our Many Volunteers

The Three Lakes Waterfront Association (TLWA) recently honored its many volunteers in the Adopt-A-Shoreline and Clean Boats/Clean Waters programs with a pizza party held at Oneida Village in Three Lakes.

TLWA President, Ed Jacobsen thanked the nearly 100 volunteers in attendance for their work this season; and all volunteers received a gift certificate from the Three Lakes Winery courtesy of owner Mark McCain.

The volunteers work for the season isn’t over quite yet, as they continue to monitor shorelines and boat landings for aquatic invasive species, mainly Eurasian Water Milfoil (EWM).

It is expected that the two programs will result in more than 2000 hours of volunteer time by season end.
So far, only three of the lakes in the Three Lakes area have any infestations of EWM…Virgin Lake, Townline Lake, and the channel leading to the Burnt Rollways Dam coming out of Long Lake.
